Jennifer O'Neil has been interested in photography since the age of nine.
Her father photographed portraits as a hobby. As she got older, he allowed
her to use his camera more often. It turned into a passion as she would bring
one of his cameras to school to photograph her friends. This interest lead to
Jennifer achieving a diploma in photography and a post-graduate diploma in
digital photography from Fanshawe College.

In 1999, armed with a passion for photography and the drive to succeed
in business, Blue Iris Photography set out to be a creative and innovative leader
in the field. Jennifer started shooting hair fashion, children, portraits and anything
she could get her hands on. She quickly realized wedding photography was what
she loved best. Shooting weddings felt natural and allowed her to be creative.
During this time London wedding photography had the stigma of being traditional,
conservative or cheesy; but the field was changing. There were a few London
wedding photographers who were breaking the rules and young couples were
coming to Blue Iris Photography for something artistic and different.

Once Jennifer found her niche, she developed her own style. The more she shot,
the more excited she became about wedding photography. She realized this
could be an outlet for her creativity, and started to become obsessed with the
journalistic side of it. Capturing the beauty of her subjects on this joyous
occassion was a dream job.

Jennifer has been happily married for 9 years and has 2 beautiful daughters.
She loves to spend time with her family outdoors, swimming and biking.
She gets her inspiration from music, film and art. She also plays the bass guitar
and wants to learn to play the drums.

Her all time favorite photographers are Mary Ellen Mark and Dianne Arbus.
