Jennifer Partington is one of my oldest and dearest friends. We have everything in common, and we always manage to have a blast together no matter what we are doing. Although our busy schedules as business ladies, photographers and mothers keep us from spending a lot of time together anymore, when we do, we slip back into our friendship like it was only yesterday that we saw each other. We share many similar core values and often find ourselves together dreaming about a Utopian society filled with peace, love and heavy metal, were we grow our own food and everyone respects mother earth. I love Jen. And I love her family. Paul is a supportive husband and an active father. Their boys Mitchell and Sam are an absolute delight to be around. Filled with energy, joy and so much creativity. All boys are high energy, (this coming from a mother of two girls) but these guys know how to have a good time and be respectful at the same time. So sweet, and so well behaved. My time with them during this shoot was incredible. I had so much fun, I really didn’t want to say good bye. I love the family dynamics of the Partingtons. It’s obvious they love each other and love to be together. The photos say it all. And just as they screamed this during some of the photos, “Partington’s rule!!!!!!!!”

This next series of 4 photos is great! Watch the love from older brother Mitch, turn to an attack on Sam.

It’s been a big week for me. First, I got my hand delivered, letter pressed, beautiful, business cards with my new logo. Designed by the awesome Natalie Core and printed by the creative Nicole at Verity Ink.
I’ve been obsessed with business cards for a while, and this one has been in the making (in my mind) for a couple of years. After seeing my new logo by Natalie, I knew this card was going to be it. Nicole was so amazing and made all the rest happen. I love, love, love them! I couldn’t be happier. The way they look and feel is the perfect way to express what me and my wedding photography is all about.
Okay, enough about the cards! Second, I bought a new lens this week. After being a professional photographer for 11 years, only over the last few years have I realized just how important the lenses I invest in really are to my wedding photography. I’m a simple girl. I like to keep things uncomplicated with my photography. Last year I upgraded my camera to a full frame, therefore, none of my lenses worked on my camera anymore. Last year I invested in one, very awesome lens, and borrowed a few from friends here and there. With the awesome camera and 2 beautiful lenses, I’m finally feeling like I can translate the creativity in my mind to my medium.
Here are the first subjects with my new lens.

I’m so excited about this photoshoot! Loved the hand picked by Dawn & Steve location. It was perfect because the first was a trail where they like to walk their dog, and the second was a job site where they both work in construction. The lighting in the job site was amazing! So much fun to work with low lighting.
It’s great to chose a spot which has significant meaning. It makes the photos hold so much more meaning.
Can’t wait for Dawn and Steve’s upcoming wedding!
